Begin to see the connections between Old and New Testaments!

It makes me sad to see such a poor review on this book. Yes, $35 is a bit much to pay for such a small book. I agree. However, the content will open your eyes to the riches of the Bible. So many of us as Believers are confused by some of the vast "differences" between the Old and New Testaments. This book addresses that, as well as clearing up some of the seemingly contradictory verses in the Bible (which arise due to the inadequacy of the English language to express what the original languages expressed). Also, expect to learn how the various names of God often indicate whether a particular appearance of God is the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit. The Angel of the Lord (an angel or God? we often wonder) is explained somewhat thoroughly. Also to note: a great companion book for this book is "Light In The Shadows" by Ed Landry. Seriously. You should get that one too. The Lord used (and continues to use) these two books to grow my faith by leaps and bounds. He has removed a lot of areas of doubt in my heart -- some that i did and some that i didn't realize were in me. Lord bless you as you seek Him!

The declining support base of ULFA is not to be seen in its numerical strength; it represents the unmet aspirations of the tribal and ethnic groups of Assam.
The book tries to go beyond a ULFA-centric solution and dwells upon the issues of illegal migration, human development and the need for the protection of a composite society in Assam. It also deals with the 2012 (July September) violent conflict in Bodoland over the issue of illegal migration and quest for a homogenous homeland. It tries to bring forward a framework of durable solution to the illegal migration issue in the state by contesting the existing discourse.

In Confronting the State, Nani Gopal Mahanta examines the complex nuances and dynamics that made Ulfa a formidable insurgent group and exposes its notorious aspects. The book is another wake-up call as it dwells on the dicey demographic shifts which have by now affected at least eleven districts of Assam and caused communal tension off and on and riots as recently as mid 2012.

About the Author
Nani Gopal Mahanta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Coordinator of Peace and Conflict Studies at Gauhati University, Assam, India. A former Rotary World Peace Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley (2002 04), he has published widely and has been a Visiting Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Norway. Currently, Mahanta is the President of North East India Political Science Association (NEIPSA).
Mahanta is a regular contributor to various national and regional newspapers and journals on the contemporary conflict issues in India s North East. They include Economic and Political Weekly, Socialist Perspective, India Today, The Hindustan Times, The Telegraph, The Assam Tribune, Amar Asom and Dainik Pratidin. He is also one of the most popular television commentators in the region. Currently the editor of Journal of Political Science, he has also co-edited a book entitled Conflict Dynamics in North East India: The Shifting Terrain (with Dilip Gogoi), published in February 2012.

You get it when you get it

I have had a love-hate relationship with this book for a while. I've tried to read this book and make sense of it many times over the years. The book being funny puts you at ease but I believe it makes you lazy at the same time, you will look for fun over learning as the books sets you up, and when the emphasis is shifted from learning, you don't learn. This was my perspective. Hey, everyone is different. But everyone you talk to and reviews you read about this book, have been praising this book. So, I said to myself, okay I will start a fresh but only this time I want to learn, fun is fun but let me put fun in the background and bring the learning part to the fore front... That's it I cracked the code, invented light blub, well not exactly, but now I see what everyone mean. This book is a gem. I have learnt and am learning so much from this book. It not only teaches how to code but also teaches inner workings of Java thus making it clear to understand how code to written one way or the other. And it is ALSO funny, witty and whimsical which I learned not to get carried away with. When you get it you get it, this book is a masterpiece.

I want to preface this review by mentioning that this book is not romance but erotic fiction, so if you are looking for Maureen's normal romance genre books this book is not for you.

First definitely read Exposed before this book so that you'll know the history of these characters and what brought them to this point in their lives.

There were a few unexpected things that happened in this book. Tamia for one totally changed, it seemed as though she really realized the error of her ways, and put forth a conscious effort to right her wrongs. Brandon, we really saw a different side of him. Yes he was the suit and tie type, but we really got a glimpse of his ruthless side, and everyone loves a bad boy. The sex scenes in this book were off the chart, they certainly lived up to the erotic title. They will have you squirming in your seat, so read this in the privacy of your own home. Not only were Brandon and Tamia on fire but everyone else in the book was too. Naomi really took it up a notch in these scenes. The supporting cast of characters also added tremendously to this book.

I could definitely see a future read with Brandon's brother Beau and even Dre, it would be interesting to see where his relationship goes. I couldn't help but root for Tamia. Yes she pissed everyone off in the first book, but before she started to act foolish we were all rooting for her, so I definitely wanted to see her and Brandon back together in this book. Nobody likes a cliff hanger, and I surely don't, but if you want to read good material it is worth the wait. I certainly didn't expect the book to end how it did, and we are surely left hanging. I'll be patiently awaiting the release of the next book to see what will happen in this ongoing drama.

Omg... That's all I can fathom right about now. I had this authors debut novel "exposed" alrdy n my collection and it was every bit of juicy. I kept seeing "deception" in my recommendations and I was like Naomi Chase, Naomi Chase... She sounds familiar. Then I snapped my fingers... It clicked, this is the sequel to exposed! I bought it so fast my bank account almost missed the transaction lol. But deception was off the candy man hook. It was full of drama, mystery, DECEPTION, and erotica. Every elements in a book that I love. It left you hanging at the end but in a good way. Because we know there will be a trilogy. My only selfish concern is I hope she don't have us waiting another whole yr. Exposed came out in Feb of 2011 and deception came out Feb of 2012 *sigh* please ms. Chase dnt do us like that again but great job this book banged!!!

Can"t Wait For The Finale!!!

I guess my opinion is opposite of the first reviewer because I was actually kind of pulling for Cynthia in Exposed but really didn't like her in this. I understand fighting for your man but she just came across as sneaky, underhanded, mean and just annoying in this.I sympathized and respected Tamia a lot more in this novel for trying to protect her sister and honoring her word and promises she made to others(as well as owning up to the mistakes she made and doing better). I also liked that we got to know a little bit more about the horrible up bring Tamia and Fiona had and the negative behavior it led them to engage in.I think Brandon might have been a bit hard on and insensitive to Cynthia though, but I think after awhile he(like I did)began to feel like she couldn't be trusted and was really just putting on a show in order to manipulate him.Overall extremely well written book love that ALL of the characters have flaws and aren't picture perfect.The secondary characters are also very well developed and had a great impact on the overall story.I loved this book can't wait to see what happens next.

P.S. I really hope that Brandon and Tamia make it.
