If mankind needs a catalyst to set off a classics-reading revolution that would cultivate a self-realized generation that is educated and empathetic enough to save us all, this could be it. Fiza Pathan's handbook, Classics: How We Can Encourage Children to Read Them, is the sequel to Classics: Why We Should Encourage Children to Read Them. It gives practical tools for teachers, parents and everyone else to use. Pathan offers new approaches and various methods based on her successful experiences with many students in classroom, home, tutorial, book club, library, book fair and other settings. She advises those trying to interest a resistant young person not to be discouraged but to use tact, endless imagination and a loving effort to sense which book would suit a certain child best before introducing it. The beautifully organized, presented, laid out and edited 98-page handbook, complete with bibliography, index and contact information, leads the readers to what they seek and is a handy reference. Quizzes and puzzles test your knowledge of well known classics and authors and are fun to to. New territory for me, but what a ride it was. A very good read :D

Tickling Daphne H. follows a girl named Daphne who hates to be tickled. She loves her boyfriend, Dave, but his touches tickle her and he likes to try and tickle her a lot. Daphne is embarrassed and shy by her reactions to it. But after a fight with her stepmother, Carol, Daphne makes a realization about herself...that she may have an addiction to tickling. But she is too scared and confused to admit it. Daphne is on a journey to understand her addiction and how to share it with her boyfriend.

I did it again. I never thought the day would come I would read BDSM. Come to find out, I like it a lot. I never thought I would read a book about fetishes and well...here we are. But thank goodness this was about tickling. I know I wouldn't be able to handle more than that. This book was sexy and downright adorable all at once. I have heard of tickling fetishes and thought, of course, that it was a little weird. But this book really opened my eyes. This book took me by surprise.

I liked Daphne a lot in this book. Although, she had quite a bit of bratty moments. She acted a bit childish at times in this book. But you do understand after a while. We find that she suffers from more than trying to accept her fetish. There are a lot of fears and things that have taken place in her past that brought on her fetish. There are the issues she has with her stepmother Carol who is quite bossy and overbearing. She will do anything to make sure she gets what she wants. Mainly tickle Daphne for hours on end. Yeah, you read that right. I liked that Frances used this because it never occurred to me that you could use tickling in a way to humiliate and torture someone. After reading this, it made sense. But the scenes made you smile sometimes and other times, you do see the humiliation.

I loved this idea of coming to terms with a fetish. I understood why Daphne was scared and confused. I loved how her boyfriend Dave loves tickling. He is afraid to tell Daphne he is turned on by tickling. I liked that Carol (who also has a tickling fetish) was able to explain it all to her first. She may not want to face it, but it does help a bit. But we do find out what caused her fetish. We also find out what started Dave's as well. I loved the development of this. I didn't see that coming. It definitely made me understand this book more.

This book was sexy and I did enjoy it. The beginning took me a while to get into due to just trying to grasp the tickling thing. But after a while, it all came together. But there are scenes that do seem to last a little long. That really is my only complaint. Some scenes were a bit silly, but I still enjoyed the book a lot. But the erotic scenes was a new experience for me and I liked them a lot. This is definitely worth checking out.

When I read this, I thought the story couldn't get any better than the first chapter, Boy was I wrong!!! Veronica came out swinging and never lost her momentum. non stop action throughout the story and the characters were so alive, I felt like I knew them. a truly fun read.

A Ticklish Delight!

This is a very erotic and romantic book and I highly recommend it!

Daphne starts out as more than a bit of a brat but is a well developed character. She's not merely a brat for brattiness' sake. There are real personal issues, fears, and desires within her and family complexities that shape her behavior as she butts heads with her step-mother, her father, and her fiance'. The characters deal with these desires of course, or sometimes avoid them only to be forced to face them, with very ticklish solutions!

A few of the events in the book are outlandish, some are wonderfully outrageous, but they are all very erotic as broken hearts are mended and Daphne journeys to maturity, self-acceptance, and her reward of a romantic Tickle Wonderland!

Great for routine Blood Banking practice.

I just got the third edition of Basic and Applied Concepts of Blood Banking and Transfusion Practices and it seems like a well-balanced textbook for training medical laboratory students and useful guide for instructors as well. It includes useful study questions for self-assessment and summaries of important knowledge to remember. There are online case studies and access to the laboratory manual. For instructors it has a collection of test bank scenarios with answers to exercises. It also has PowerPoint presentations with the images in the book. Our institution is using this book for the Medical Technologist program starting on 2013. I hope it will help students as well as instructors in developing strong and useful knowledge in blood banking and transfusion practice.

This book could be a lot better

This book could be a lot better. There are some concepts that are passively mentioned and never clearly explained. Some chapters have many examples and some chapters have none. The examples are immensely helpful and I just wish there were more! The answers to the critical thinking questions are nowhere to be found online and some of them are not mentioned in the book. I feel like my learning would be greatly improved if I had access to these to see if I'm truly understanding the more complicated concepts.

This book explains things well. But, it always helps me to have the answers to the questions in the back. There are study questions and critical thinking exercises that include case studies. There are no answers in the book for these critical thinking exercises! Case studies are all over the boards! Why am I not given the answers to these? Why the paperback ? It will surely rip if used to refer to as the years progress.

Dark, twisty and unexpected!

Fair warning, this is not a standalone. This is book 3 of 4 in the Condemned series. It is the dark, twisted, and passionate story of Alex and Rafe.

Alex De Luca has loved one man. He was sent to jail for 8 years for a rape he didn't commit and on release, he seeks out revenge against the person that sent him there...Alex. Alex feels she deserves his punishment and takes every bit of his intense anger and asks for more. After years of torment from her Stepbrother Zach, she needs the pain to find the pleasure.

Rafe Mason was hardened by years in prison. He hatched a plan for revenge only to find a willing victim in Alex. With the help of his cellmate Jax, Rafe kidnaps, cages and torments Alex and unexpectedly falls in love. After he lost her to her brother Zach who's obsession lead to the kidnapping of Alex and his attempted murder, Rafe was left with traumatic amnesia. When he finally gets Alex back, he is no longer the cruel, dominant man Alex craves.

At the end of Torrent, both Rafe and Alex are still struggling with their past when they are taken by an unknown enemy. This time at least they are together in their struggle, but that can be both better and worse. With terror of captivity, Rafe's memories start to return from the years in prison and his time with Alex. He is haunted by both the memories and his desire to choke and control her. He is stuck between his need to save Alex from herself and the enemy and his lust to dominate her. For Alex it's more simple, she wants Rafe.

After all the struggles these two have faced, it's hard to imagine things getting worse, but in the dark and twisted hands of Gemma James, the impossible is reality. I really didn't expect this twisty tale, but I have loved the journey. The writing is amazing and storyline unique and mysterious, even this far into the tale. And the end, well, I'll just say I've never wanted summer to go fast, but I need Vagrant for the rest of the story!

I wanted to commit fictional murder.

If you’re new to the Condemned Series then I highly recommend that you go pick up a copy of Torrent and Rampant before starting in on this gem. This is a part of a series and was not intended to be a stand-alone, therefore you will be lost.

If you've already read the first two books and you’re contemplating on getting this one as well, then stop dragging your feet and just one-click it already. Trust me. You will not be disappointed.

I can honestly say that I wasn't that impressed with Alex when I first read about her in Torrent, but holy hell. I can’t believe this girl is still standing after all that she endures here. She’s constantly being violated, beaten, and tortured. But despite all that, she refuses to back down. There’s not a thing that she wouldn't do, not a thing that she wouldn't agree to, if it meant saving Rafe’s life. He’s what matters to her. He’s what keeps her going.

My heart kind of broke for Rafe. He’s still suffering from memory loss so it’s like going through hell twice, he doesn’t remember the things he’s being accused of, and the flashes of memory that he’s regained from his time with Alex leaves him with a deep sense of guilt. But worse than that, he doesn’t understand the dark desires that threaten to overwhelm him. It was interesting to see two very different sides of his character, and I rather enjoyed the delicate balance of it all.

Now it took me awhile to figure out how I really felt about this book. If I’m to be completely honest, I kept putting it aside because I continuously found myself getting rather pissed off. It’s very rare that I find myself wishing that I could live in a fictional world just so I could kill everyone, but that’s exactly what was happening here. But here’s the thing. It made me think. It made me feel something. And a week after I finished Fervent, I found myself still thinking about some of the things that I read. THAT’S how I knew it was a five star read. If it stays with you for one reason or another then you know you have a winner.

As with the other books in this series, Fervent does end in a cliffhanger and I’ll be sitting here waiting (impatiently) for the final installment to release. I’m actually really excited to see how it’s all going to end.
