About the Author
Betty G. Birney has won many awards for writing for television, including an Emmy, three Humanitas Prizes, and a Writers Guild of America Award. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where her parents grew up as neighbors on Humphrey Street.

My 8 year old boy loves these books. The language level is good for him and the sentence structure is basic without a lot of 'artistic' wording that confuses kids. The story is fun and interested him.

Adorable.

Humphrey's Tiny Tales takes the original Humphrey the classroom hamster into a whole new series of adventures. This series is for the early chapter book crowd and succeeds beautifully. The combination of illustrations and text makes for a fun read with Humphrey helping out his classmates just like he does in the series for older readers. In this one, Humphrey goes home with Richie who needs his help in completing his science project, but Richie's new puppy wants to play with Humphrey too. Unfortunately, Humphrey must find a way to help Richie while staying away from the puppy. A cute animal story for young readers who aren't quite ready for the full length series for older readers.

About the Author
Elder David A. Bednar was ordained a member of the Quorum of the Twelve in 2004. Prior to his call, he d served as an Area Seventy, regional representative, and stake president. He served a mission to southern Germany, then attended BYU, where he received a bachelor s degree and a master s degree. He received a PhD in organizational behavior from Purdue University and was a professor of business management at Texas Tech and the University of Arkansas. Elder Bednar served as the president of BYU Idaho from 1997 to 2004. He and his wife, Susan, are the parents of three sons.

Great, Interactive e-Book

If you want the eBook, buy it via deseretbook.com (their eReader is free too) and there you get the DVD integrated in with the text. I don't know why its not like that on kindle, maybe they can't support video play. Anyway its a fantastic read, very insightful. So glad Elder Bednar is starting to write books. I hope he comes out with another one soon.

For Those Who Ernestly Strive to Follow the Will of the Lord

I was prompted to write this review because through Elder Bednar's teachings, especially in the video segments, I recognized the pattern the Lord has used to teach and work with me all my life! I shared this with my wife, Becci, who with joy, also recognized this pattern in her life. This has been very affirming and has helped us to see Heavenly Father's hand in our lives more clearly and has increased our love and appreciation for Him immeasurably. My wife and I can testify that his teachings to give greater emphasis to "doctrines and principles" instead of just "applications" is true. Our parenting philosophy stemmed from what Joseph Smith explained, that he taught "correct principles and the people governed themselves." Our family is happier because of it. You can know for yourself the Gospel truths and stand independent as a witness for the Savior.

Great tool for learning and teaching!

This book has great implications on learning and teaching. I just got the book for myself yesterday for my birthday, started looking into it this morning and I feel I have stumbled upon a real treasure. Very profound, I know this book will help me become a better learner and teacher. Thank you David A. Bednar.

25 days later, I have finished going through the book, and I am now starting to go through it again and REALLY study it. This book is truly amazing, my perspective on learning has changed entirely, and I am becoming to realize for myself the true power of spiritual learning. David Bednar teaches so wonderfully the role of the Holy Ghost as the teacher and our role as the learner. The principles and doctrines are all laid out so wonderfully, and can be easily understood. I have found applying the principles has a very far reaching effect in my life. Life is better.

Eloise realizes that she's not like other women. Something is missing. Eloise wants to have mind blowing sex instead of the dull, unfulfilling sex she's used to. So, she decides to take matters into her own hands and heads to a tattoo parlor to get pierced. Eloise has recently learned that piercing is the way to go if you want the kind of sex you only read about in books. The kind that enhances your pleasure to mind blowing status. What she didn't realize was that the sexy tattoo artist was a man she went to school with when she was just a kid. Gabe, the sexy tattoo artist, had a crush on Eloise, back then and seeing her in his shop wanting a piercing, he decides he's just the man to do it. Things don't go as Gabe planned and Eloise leaves. Gabe decides to pursue her; he's very determined to get what he wants. Eloise is used to straight laced men. Men who haven't been able to satisfy her in bed. Gabe is the exact opposite....ripped, tatted up. Maybe she needs to take a walk on the wild side. Gabe is sure he could help her with her problem and cure her too.
From a crush in grade school to his fantasy girl come to life, Gabe definitely wants more. He has his work cut out for him. Eloise is in it for the sex, but she assumes Gabe is too.
For as much as he wants Eloise as his forever girl, something in his past makes this impossible and it's tearing him apart.
This is a beautiful story about love never dying. Sometimes, for your own sanity you have to let love go. That was heartbreaking. But sometimes you have to let love in, in order to heal.
WELL WRITTEN, COMPELLING STORYLINE WITH COMPLEX CHARACTERS ! LOTS OF INTENSE, UNDENIABLE CHEMISTRY WITH LOTS OF CRAZY, HOT SEX ! ! !

Three for the price of one.. not a bad deal. Good reads.

In this one book, I got 3. Pierce me was the first, and then surprise there was another book, and yet another after that one. If you can get this special and take advantage of all 3 books, do it.
Pierce me starts off with a young woman, Eloise who is very sexually frustrated since she's never experienced the BIG 'O'. Even tho she's a phisiotherapist and knows how to make others feel better, she lacks the ability to make herself feel better or a boyfriend interested enough to take her to the fireworks show. She reads a magazine article about genital piercings enhancing orgasm and decides this is exactly what she needs. After researching tat parlors who pierce also she makes her choice and by chance ends up on the table with Gabe who is going to do the piercing. What she fails to realize is Gabe is the boy who sat behind her in grade school and tormented her, but he hasn't forgotten who she is. The story develops well from that point when he finally confesses her remembers her. Through Eloise's embarrassment and finally admission that she needs help Gabe shows her what its all about without the piercing. Its a good story, hot sex, and actually deals very well with a common problem for women. I'd recommend this book for adult reading, its a good way to spend a night. The next two books are well done as well. There are a few grammatical errors, however nothing that is so major it distracts from the stories. Good read. Enjoy this different topic.

A Sparkling Hot Romance!

What happens if you cross an overthinking neat freak who is a good girl, with a tattooed, pierced hot hunk of a man? I can tell you after I read Simone Sowood's newest novel Pierce Me!

You get a hilarious funny encounter between Eloise and Gabe. You very quickly discover that the chemistry in the book is as wild as a bucking herd of wild horses. The good girl learns that perhaps she isn't as good as she thinks she is because the hunky hunk makes her do things she didn't think possible. And the hunky hunk discovers that she makes him feel things that he didn't think he would ever feel. Swoooon.

So sweet Eloise has never had an orgasm, and it's bothering her because if the books she reads are true, she is really missing out. But she reads in a magazine that a clitoral piercing can do the trick and help with the orgasms she is dreaming of. Somehow she finds the courage and makes an appointment at a local tattoo parlor, where they do piercings too, and luckily it's a female that is performing the piercing. But when she gets there, it's not a female but the most stunning man, she has ever seen. And he is going to pierce her down there!!??! And this is how Eloise and Gabe meet each other. Him, looking between her legs! Her, completely lost for words at the sight of his perfect tattooed body.

The sparkle and charm in this book absolutely bedazzled me. The way both Eloise and Gabe shined bright through the entire book was brilliant. I loved both their characters.
Eloise's good girl gone wild was uplifting. How she finally stopped overthinking everything and just lets her desire rule her, was elegantly described by Mrs. Sowood.
And there were no better hands to surrender to and feel safe in than Gabe's. He was sexy, gorgeous, and sweet! He made my heart beat double with his bad boy exterior and his warm, fuzzy inside. The perfect combination.

The book is lighthearted on the outside, but it deals with some darker questions, and it made me think, and Miss Betty likes to think.

Simone Sowood's writing is SOLID, and I feel very comfortable reading her book. Her dialog runs smoothly, and it is funny and full of life. Her characters are strong, both the ones I love and the ones that I don't.
Mrs. Sowood just keeps getting better and better and once again I'm blown away by her imagination and playfulness.

Thanks to the author for this tantalizing advanced copy that made my princess parts all tingling.
PS If you're wondering. I've got an advanced copy but I loved it so much that I had to own a real copy too.

The sources of errors and the pros and cons of the various turbulent models are also described. Chapter 9 presents several case studies, and chapter 10, the appendix, is a program for a 2-D finite volume application. A short list of exercises follows each chapter. Students will need a solid grounding in basic fluid mechanics and numerical analysis to follow this text."

About the Author

Dr. Jens-Dominik Mueller is a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary, University of London, UK. He graduated with a Dipl.-Ing in mechanical engineering in 1989 from the Technical University of Munich, obtained a VKI Diploma in aeronautics from the Von Karman Institute in Brussels in 1990, and an MSc and PhD in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1996. He held research and academic positions at CERFACS, Toulouse, Oxford University and Queen's University Belfast. He is the author of more than 40 publications and has organized numerous international conferences.

Pure metallurgical and historical delight.

The many woodcut illustrations in this book really bring it to life. I am very fascinated by the development of the sciences and of engineering practices over the ages and this book is an essential treasure trove. I would strongly encourage anyone with interest in early mining and metallurgical practices to grab a copy.

The industrial methods and processes described in De Re Metallica have long been superseded by newer methods. This is the first known text book of mining and metallurgy(1556)and is richly illustrated. Worth the price of admission for the illustrations alone. A classic historical text. RB
